In this post I will be talking about what I believe is the most beautiful warship in history. I will be talking about the famous HMS Warrior.

The HMS Warrior is famous for being the first iron-plated iron-hulled warship and was built in response to the first ocean going ironclad (the French Warship Gloire). The Warrior is definitely a warship that I am interested in, it is not my favourite I do believe that she is the most beautiful.
Commissioned in 1861, the ship was revolutionary at the time and was designed to replace the previous wooden hulled sailing warships that made up the bulk of a navies fleet for hundreds of years. She had a sister ship; Black Prince.
The reasons why I think this ship is so beautiful is (for starters) she still exists today. She was in a terrible state when used to store oil between 1927 and 1979 but was donated to the Maritime Trust and she was restored and now looks absolutely incredible.
I personally really love her long and sleek clipper design with the imposing clipper bow at the front. The black, red, yellow and white colour scheme that the ship possesses is a refreshing sight instead of the plain grey coloured ships of contemporary times.
Her figurehead also reinforces the aesthetic appeal and honestly adds to the idea that the ship is what I believe an art piece.
And as stated before; she exists today as a museum ship. She is not just another page in the history book but instead a piece of history that one can see, touch and experience.
Tying all the previously stated reasons together just makes me look at that beautiful ship and think "wow, what a work of art".
